Nordic United Community Involvement

Education:

• Sponsors cross-country & skate ski classes, and ski/snowshoe outings, for the general public.
• Informs the public regarding winter non-motorized opportunities available on National Forests.
• Promotes opportunities, through trail grooming, instructional courses, and recreational races, for the public to enjoy safe winter recreation on National Forest land.
• Educates the community about the joy and health benefits of winter non-motorized recreation and the natural winter environment.
• Promotes educational programs that develop an understanding and respect for conflicting winter recreation user groups.

Land Management Planning:

• Advocates protection of areas on National Forest lands that provide quality non-motorized recreation.
• Works with other user groups and public agencies to find environmentally sound solutions to conflicts arising from increased user demands for winter recreation on National Forest land.
